"How can I improve my English?" Is a question one always hears from those who are learning English as a second language. There are many possible ways for you to improve your English and here are just a few:

* Immerse yourself in English as much as possible

Immerse means to be surrounded by something. If you are immersed in English, it is all around you all the time.

Listen to the radio in English.*

Listen to the news, stories etc on the internet.*

Watch TV and movies in English. *

*Speak English to your friends. Find a friend or buddy and speak in English as much as possible. If your friend or buddy speaks the same language as you, you may feel silly speaking in English at first. But don’t worry. Just continue to do it and you will find that it becomes more natural and much easier for you. Find friends whose native language is English. And always ask your friends to correct you.

Read English magazines, children's story, and newspaper, anything you can find.

*Pay attention to how you use English. Think about how you are going to say something before it comes out of your mouth. Just concentrate on what needs improving, work at it and then when you feel you are improving, move on to something else to work on. Just keep trying and little by little, you will find that your English is improving day by day.

"كيف أستطيع تحسين لغتي الإنكليزية؟" سؤال يسمع دائما من أولئك الذين يتعلمون الإنكليزية كلغة ثانية. وهناك العديد من الطرق المحتملة لتحسين لغتك الإنكليزية وإليك بعضها:

* مارس اللغة الإنكليزية قدر المستطاع

Immerse تعني أن تجعل كل شيء محيط بك طوال الوقت بلغة الإنكليزية وأن تعود نفسك على ممارستها.

* استمع للراديو بالإنكليزية.

* استمع للأخبار، والقصص الخ...... على الإنترنت

* شاهد التلفاز و الأفلام بالإنكليزية.

* تحدث بالإنكليزية مع أصدقائك. و جد صديقا أو شخص وتحدث معه الإنكليزية قدر ما تستطيع. وإن كان صديقك أو ذلك الشخص يتحدث اللغة نفسها، ربما تشعر بسخافة الحديث في البداية. ولكن لا تقلق. تابع الأمر وحسب, ستجد الأمر أكثر سهولة وطبيعية أكثر بالنسبة لك. و جد أصدقاء تكون لغتهم الأصلية الإنكليزية. واطلب من أصدقائك تصحيح أخطاءك.

* أقرأ المجلات، قصص أطفال، والصحف، أو أي شيء تستطيع إيجاده.

* وانتبه لكيفية استخدام الإنكليزية. فكر بأي شيء ستقوله قبل أن تقوله(قبل أن يخرج أو يطلع الكلام من فمك). ركز على ما تحتاجه لتطور لغتك واعمل على ذلك وبعدها ستشعر بالتطور(لغويا), وانتقل لتعمل على شيء أخر. حافظ على محاولاتك(في تعلم الإنكليزية) وشيئا فشيئا ستجد بأن لغتك الإنكليزية تطورت يوما بعد يوم.

Two frogs

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them
fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit
was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The
two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit
with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop,
that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took
heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down
and died.

The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again,
the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He
jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the
other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to
them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the
entire time.

This story teaches two lessons:

1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging
word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it
through the day.

2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes
to kill them.

Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your
path. The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand
that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak
words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in
difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time
to encourage another.

كانت مجموعة من الضفادع تسافر في الغابة، سقط اثنان منهم في حفرة عميقة. وعندما رأت الضفادع الأخرى كيف كان عمق الحفرة، أخبروا الضفدعين بأنهما كما الموتى. تجاهل الضفدعان التعليقات (أي تعليقات الضفادع الأخرى)، وحاولا القفز بكل قوتهما خارج الحفرة. بقيت الضفادع تخبرهم بالتوقف عن ذلك وبأنهم كما الموتى. أخذ أحد الضفدعين يصغي أخيرا لما تقوله الضفادع واستسلم، فوقع أرضا ومات. واصل ( أو تابع) الضفدع القفز بأقصى جهد يمكنه.ومرة أخرى صرخ فيه (صاح فيه) حشد الضفادع ليوقف الألم أو الأذى عن نفسه ويموت.

قفز الضفدع بإرادة وإصرار وأخيرا فعلها وخرج من الحفرة. وعندما أصبح خارج الحفرة، قالت له الضفادع،"ألم تسمعنا؟" فأجاب الضفدع مفسرا لهم بأنه كان أصم.

اعتقد الضفدع بأنهم كانوا يشجعونه كل ذالك الوقت أو طوال الوقت.

تعلم هذه القصة درسين أي المغزى من القصة

1- هناك طاقة للحياة والموت في اللسان أي يمكن أن ينطق اللسان بكلمات تجعلك أو تشجعك للعيش أو للموت. كلمة مشجعة لشخص ما، يعاني من الإحباط، باستطاعتها أن تتركه فوق أي بعيد عن الإحباط وتساعده على عملها خلال اليوم

2- وإن أي كلمة يمكنها أن تدمر شخص ما حالته في الحضيض كافية لتودي بحياته أو أن تكون ما تتطلب لقتله.

فكن حذرا مما تقوله. تكلم الحياة للذين يمرون في طريقك. قوة الكلمات.... أحيانا تكون صعبة الفهم والكلمة المشجعة يمكن أن تذهب مثل هذا الطريق الطويل ( أي أن يدوم تأثيرها لفترة بعيدة). يمكن لأي أحد أن يتكلم كلمات تميل لسرقة أخرى من الروح للاستمرار في الأوقات الصعبة (أي اختيار كلمات مناسبة حسب الموقف). وخاصة الفرد الذي سيستغرق الوقت ليشجع الأخر.
